Adding Branches to your RBD

Adding Branches to your RBD

You can model redundant branches in your RBD. This enables you to employ redundancy with non-identical units or non-identical paths. When using branches, the RBD will insert junctions where the branches begin and end. The end junctions have properties associated to indicate the quantity (k) required for operation.

To insert a branch, click Insert>Branch from the toolbar. The Insert Branch dialog appears.

Select the First Block in Branch and Last Block in Branch from the dropdown list of blocks in your diagram. The branch will automatically be drawn with a single new block in it. You can then edit this new branch as desired.

Note: You can also add a Repeat Block in a new branch of the RBD.  To insert a Repeat Block in a new branch, click Insert>Repeat as Branch from the toolbar.

The Select Block to Repeat dialog appears.

Review the available blocks in the table or use the Field and Find fields to locate a specific block to repeat.

Once the block to repeat is identified and the row is selected in the table, click OK.

The Insert Branch dialog appears. Select the First Block in Branch and Last Block in Branch from the dropdown list of blocks in your diagram. The branch will automatically be drawn with a single new block in it. You can then edit this new branch as desired. Click OK.
