Converting SAE Fault Trees to Conventional Fault Trees

Converting SAE Fault Trees to Conventional Fault Trees

If you have an Analysis where the Fault Tree Properties has the Perform SAE ARP4754A / ARP4761 option checked as shown below, it will employ SAE ARP4754A / ARP4761 methodology for fault tree analysis.

If you prefer to use conventional fault tree analysis, simply clear this option and click Save to convert the Analysis to use conventional methodology in Relyence Fault Tree.

Note that the Analysis must meet acceptable criteria in order to allow for the conversion from SAE fault tree analysis to conventional fault tree analysis. The acceptable criteria is that within the Analysis, none of the Gates or Events are linked to any Gate or Event in a Fault Tree Library or Event Library.

Also note that if the acceptable criteria are not met, the Perform SAE ARP4754A / ARP4761 FTA option will be disabled and a pop-up tooltip will explain why you cannot select or clear it.

Note that if you have any Gate or Event Properties set that are specific to SAE fault tree analysis, those details will be saved in the event you would turn the Perform SAE ARP4754A / ARP4761 option back on.

For more details about fault tree analysis per SAE ARP4754A / ARP4761 in Relyence Fault Tree, see Conventional Fault Tree Analysis.
