Data Shared across PFMEA Elements
In Relyence FMEA, certain data is shared across various elements of your PFMEA.
1. Step Number and Process Step. You can enter the steps of your process in the Process Flow Diagram/Process Flow Table (PFD/PT), the PFMEA Worksheet, or the Control Plan (CP). Typically, you begin with your PFD/PFT and enter the process flow steps there. However, in Relyence FMEA, you can enter the process steps in any element of the PFMEA and the process steps will remain in sync.
2. PFMEA Characteristics. PFMEA Characteristics are used in the Process Flow Diagram/Process Flow Table (PFD/PT) and the Control Plan (CP).
a. Product Characteristics. A product characteristic is an attribute about the product itself that needs to be controlled. Examples of product characteristics are size, shape, weight, color, quality, etc.
b. Process Characteristics. A process characteristic is an element whose variability influences the quality, reliability, safety, or performance of the product being made. Examples of process characteristics are tolerances, gap sizes, torque, etc.
3. Controls. Controls are used in the PFMEA Worksheet and CP.
a. Prevention Controls. Prevention controls are controls put in place to prevent a failure from occurring.
b. Detection Controls. Detections controls are controls put in place to detect when a failure occurs so that it can be properly handled.
