Managing your RBD Layout
Managing your RBD Layout
Relyence RBD automatically draws your diagrams in an efficient manner to make it easy for you to create organized and visually pleasing diagrams with less effort. There are various features available that enable you to customize the layout to meet your needs.
- Wrap and Unwrap allow you to change a horizontal layout to a more vertical configuration. For example, if you have four blocks in a horizontal row, select the third block in the series and clicking Wrap from the toolbar will move the third and fourth blocks below blocks one and two and automatically draw the orthogonal connection line for you. You can use Unwrap to revert back to a horizontal configuration.
- Move Left and Move Right allow you to adjust the location of blocks in your layout as you prefer. Select the preferred block and click either Move Left or Move Right to move its position as desired.
- Move Up and Move Down within the Branch button allow you to change the order from top to bottom of the branches in an RBD. Select any block in a branch and click Move Up or Move Down to move it up or down. Note that the priority order of branches in an RBD is based on their vertical placement; the top-most branch has the highest priority and the bottom-most branch has the lowest priority.
- Using Subdiagrams enables you to manage large diagrams, as well as allows for reusing child subsystems across different parent systems. Click Insert>Subdiagram to automatically insert a new block, create a new subdiagram, and link the two together. Alternatively, you can create your subdiagram, then go to the appropriate parent diagram and select Subdiagram from the Link field in the Properties pane and enter the Subdiagram name.
