Building an RBD Library from an Analysis

Building an RBD Library from an Analysis

You have the ability to create your own RBD Library to easily include RBDs already included in an Analysis.

Creating an RBD Library of your own may be helpful if you have completed an RBD analysis and would like to reuse the RBDs from that Analysis in subsequent Analyses. This can greatly speed up the data entry process in later block diagram analyses.

You can continually build up your own RBD Libraries by adding RBDs over time.

There are three methods to add RBDs to your RBD Library:

1. You can directly input the RBDs through an interface similar to that used in the RBD pane of Relyence RBD. To directly enter RBDs into your RBD Library, see the details in the RBD Libraries topic.

2. You can add RBDs to a library by using the Add to RBD Library option from the Library button in the RBD pane toolbar. To enter individual RBDs into your RBD Library, see the details in the RBD Libraries topic.

3. You can use the Build Library function to automatically add RBDs from your active Analysis to a new RBD Library. To add RBDs to an RBD Library from an Analysis click Libraries from the Sidebar and select Build Library.

The Build Library  dialog appears.

Enter a Name for your Library and an optional Description.

For I want to create a new, select RBD Library if you want to store entire RBDs.

Click OK.

The RBD Library is created and any RBDs from your Analysis which do not yet exist in a Library are added. The Library is opened for review.

Review the newly created RBD Library and its contents and click Back to Analysis from the Sidebar when finished to return to the Analysis.

Once RBDs are stored in an RBD Library, they can be used easily to add RBDs in any Analysis. To insert RBDs from a library to an Analysis, use the RBD from Library option from the Insert menu when working in the All RBDs pane. You can find details in the RBD Libraries topic.

Note that if there are not any RBDs to add to a Library, the Build Library dialog appears and indicates that there were no RBDs that are not already in an RBD Library. This simply means that all RBDs in the Analysis are already stored in a library.

Click Close to close the dialog.
